Requests for commissioned paintings vary from a specific view of a place, to something with a certain mood, feeling or colour. Often clients talk with me about the light or weather conditions they would like to be depicted or other details of design - such as size, shape and colour. When planning this work I enjoy learning about the significance of places to an individual’s experience. 

The initial conversation- which can be in person, by phone or by email is also used to establish what they would like in terms of size and on what time scale it is hoped for.

This consultation process is free, and the quote can usually be given immediately. My rates are worked out according to size, and also occasionally according to how much travel and additional research will be necessary. 

Below are some examples of canvas sizes I have worked on,  together with my current commissioned painting prices. Other dimensions and formats are also possible to order, as are works on paper which have a different rate of pay,  available on request.

Once an agreement has been made between us for the commissioned painting, a 25% deposit is asked for followed by an interim payment during the development of the work; I keep in touch about my progress by email. Quotes are for unframed pieces of work, though it is also possible to discuss what framing options might be.

The balance for the finished piece is payable upon collection.
